Medfin is experienced in raising debt financing from the international markets through commercial banking credits, club deals and syndicated facilities. Shipping Finance activities:
- Medfin acts as financial advisors to the shipping industries of Turkey and its neighbouring countries. Our in-depth knowledge of these shipping markets, particularly Turkish market, helps potential financiers to avoid any pitfalls.
- Before presenting funding requests to financial institutions, Medfin carries out its own due diligence to ensure the accuracy and completeness of information.
- Based on its knowledge of the ship financing market Medfin assists its clients in formulating their investment and borrowing strategies. Our company assists its clients during the negotiations with financial institutions and subsequently, using its extensive experience and knowledge, assists them with the commercial aspects of loan documentation.
- Since its inception in 1999 Medfin has arranged loans region US$ 3 billion mostly for Turkish principals involving Newbuildings. Medfin’s policy is to cater exclusively to the financial requirements of the most prominent names in Turkish shipping.
- Medfin has introduced a number of new first-class financial institutions to the Turkish and Ukrainian shipping markets and has been able to provide very useful intelligence on a whole range of issues linked to shipping.
- Assistance in identifying suitable financial institution(s)

Sale and Lease Back
We provide Sale and Lease Back transactions for our clients. These cases are tailor-made and depending on the needs of our customers. We have the experience and capacity to provide our clients with long-term funding (consisting of private equity and debt) at flexible terms and structure feasible leasing transactions for them supported with bare-boat charter contracts.
Yacht Finance
Medfin is also active in financing of modern mega-yachts for selective clients only, depending on the needs of its clients. It also gets involved in Sale & Purchase for yatchs, whose financing are also procured by Medfin.

Project Finance
In close cooperation with our J-V partners Cheverny Capital Inc., Montreal , we, as Medfin, mainly focus on asset-backed shipping related projects e.g. ports, terminals, marinas, shipyards, logistic facilities, off-shore transhipment facilities etc. and for the right projects we provide medium and/or long term financing solutions according to the result of the analysis made in accordance with the investment project. We are also active in raising Private Equity and Private Debt, identifying strategic investors and managers for energy, infrastructure and high-tech projects.
Financial Restructuring
Our experienced and dedicated team of professionals are ready to solve the problems regarding the problematic and distressed shipping loans and defaulted facilities with commercial banks and financial institutions.
Private Equity Placement
In strategic partnership with Cheverny Capital Inc. of Montreal and through our close North American (Canada and USA) and European contacts, we have the necessary skills, experience and capacity to raise Private Equity and Private Debt for the shipping projects financing of which through highly regulated conventional banks is difficult if not impossible.
Sale and Purcase
We also provide Sale and Purchase transactions for our clients on very selective basis, particularly for our credit-clients only.
